Chicago- During kick off returns against the Bears, players have heard time and time again DO NOT kick the ball to Devin Hester and for good reason.

Yesterday against the Carolina Panthers, Hester set an NFL record with his 11th punt return for a touchdown. The 69 yard return moved him past Eric Metcalf for the record. The wide receiver proceeded to do flips or somersaults in the endzone afterwards which resulted in a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Devin Hester breaks record

“It feels good,” Hester said. “I knew my teammates were thirsting for a return, and I’m just glad and pretty honored to be on a team like this where we have 10 other guys out there that want a return just as bad as me.”

Prior to the return he set up a Bears TD with a 73 yard kickoff return. Matt Forte was able to punch it in. Hester’s quickness and capabilities to get free on the field is still a wonder to watch. Breaking tackles and displaying true physicality he continues to “wow” fans and opponents. The Bears beat Carolina 34-29.
