As a football fan I have seen plenty of amazing games and hard hits. There are few particular “smackdowns” that have stuck out in my memory bank. Though I have seen many, I have three in particular I will never forget. (more…)

NFL Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers, Tom Brady 12:49 am
Cam Newton….I really didn’t expect to be talking about him, well at least not in a positive light. I suppose the more you hear about a person the less interested you are in them. I mean unless you happen to be a Carolina fan. Even then, how much can you take? (more…)

NFL STUDS n’ DUDS Saturday, Oct 1 2011
Studs n' Duds Antonio Cromartie, Darren Mcfadden, Jermichael Finley, Michael Vick, Phil Costa, Wes Welker 5:35 am
STUDS OF THE WEEK:
Darren McFadden:
McFadden has a total of 393 rushing yards the first 3 games of the season. Sunday against the Jets he rushed for 171 yards and 2TDs. A force to be reckon with on the football field….flat out unstoppable.
Wes Welker:
Welker set a new franchise single game record with 16 catches 217 yards and 2TDs in Sunday’s loss against the Bills. Welker currently leads the NFL in yards and catches. Brady is hot right now and seems to be focusing a lot of his tosses to Welker. Guess Ocho-stinko really isn’t working out that well…huh?
Jermichael Finley:
Finley showed us why he is so important to the Packers when healthy. Sunday against the Bears, he had 7 catches for 85 yards and 3TDs. Finley hasn’t played a full season in the NFL yet. Hopefully he will be able to do so this year. If that is the case, I would have to say the Packers have a good chance to repeat as Super Bowl champs.
DUDS OF THE WEEK:
Phil Costa:
The Cowboys center made life for the ailing Tony Romo even more difficult. He had one of the most terrible performances I have seen. He basically made up his own snap count. Half the time Romo wasn’t ready for the ball! Lucky for Costa he got a pep talk from the veteran Audre Gurode. If he doesn’t shape up this week for the Lions, he better not step foot on the field the rest of the season! I have spoken!
Michael Vick:
…..Michael you are a quarterback in the NFL…..I hate to break it to you but your gonna get hit. A LOT! Especially when you are up against a divisional rival. I can’t believe he had the nerve to call out the refs for not pulling flags for clean plays. Ok, maybe one was questionable but still, get it together and do your job! He has since apologized for the comments made.
Antonio Cromartie:
Frustrated during the Raiders game and was clearly being targeted by the refs. The worst move was the mishandling of the ball after a kickoff in the 3rd quarter…..you should have attempted soccer with Ocho-stinko if you wanted to kick around a ball, jackass. He left the game later in the 4th quarter with a bruised rib.
Romo still Worthy of our Support? Tuesday, Sep 27 2011
NFL Dallas Cowboys, Drew Bledsoe, Redskins, Tony Romo 9:48 pm
When Tony Romo replaced Drew Bledsoe in 2006 as starting QB for the Dallas Cowboys, I was more than excited for my team. ANYONE had to be better than Bledsoe, right? (more…)
Charles with Early Exit Sunday, Sep 18 2011
NFL Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, Jamaal Charles, KC 9:13 pm
Detroit– Kansas City running back Jamaal Charles made an early and unexpected exit off the field midway through the first quarter. Fantasy football owners of Charles, start to panic! The injury at first was questionable and a return possible but by the third quarter there was no sign of his return; he ultimately would not at all. (more…)

College Basketball bracketology, march madness 1:41 am
Filling out your NCAA bracket, my friends, is no easy task. When you become as obsessed with it as I have, the idea of March “madness” is very true. I don’t normally have my NCAA bracket figured out this early (nobody could) and this weekend of tough loses for top rankers and huge upsets is prime example WHY!! (more…)
